Well… The 2 seconds are up so enough babbling about Christmas which is still over a month away! A lot can happen during this remaining time…
I have to prepare for competitions and contests and at the same time study English and French, and then more English and more French, preparing for the admission exams next summer, cause I really want to get into that damned Foreign Language & Literature university and study English and Japanese at a high level.

What happened to all those dreams and hopes?

I still have that puppy you gave to me on my birthday…

I still remember the days and nights we cried together…

Do you remember that time when we recorded our voices on that magnetic tape? That was on another birthday… I sang a Romanian song which you liked and the chorus from “Fix You” which you said sounded awful and you sang “Hold You Down”… I still have it…

I can’t watch a Gilmore Girls episode without remembering your face, your mimic, your gestures…

I still cry when I think of all we’ve been through…

I still love you…

I still want you…

I still want to know why…

I’m sorry… I’m just being selfish, aren’t I?

and I suddenly thought of Al Gore’s documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, about global warming and stuff (which really freaked me out – but a must see nonetheless) and thoughts started racing at the speed of sound (as they usually do, and it’s so hard to keep up… :-<)

and I thought…

if things go on like this, in a xxxxxx years from now, all the plants, vegetable, fruits that we depend on will have disappeared… animals too… soon, there will be no more life on earth… and all because of the almighty homo sapiens who never knew how to benefit from nature without destroying it… and Mother Earth will return to the cycle that began billions of years ago… at first there was water… and then things started evolving from it… only this time, it’ll probably take millions of years for the planet only to return to normal… but what will normal be like? cause this time, it’s not only earth and water, continents and oceans…. cause us humans are kind enough to leave so many things behind, so much concrete, metal and other materials that even if they eventually dissolve, it will have serious consequences…  if the evolution cycle starts all over again, it may not be humans the ultimate species…

or maybe humans will not disappear at all and we’ll be living in a world similar to the one Isaac Asimov invisioned in his novel The Caves of Steel.

I saw another documentary (if I may call it so) on TV, about a team of researchers and engineeres who think that the best solution to the global warming issue is the artificial tree (which is actually a huuuuge panel) who is supposed to absorb large amounts of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and then deposit it, most likely, deeply under the sea… and then what? what happens to all this CO2 that is gathered there? who guarantees that it will remain safely isolated there? maybe it’ll form another layer in the Earth’s core and have other devastating effects…   the Earth’s surface keeps moving and changing and maybe someday (thousands of years from now), at the wrong move all of that CO2 could burts out, just like a biiig burp from the Earth’s stomach… and then what?

yeah… I just let my imagination run wild so I’ll try to stop here… :D

But among all the dramas, there was one that surpasses them all. And the title? 1Litre Of Tears (Original Title: Ichi Rittoru no Namida)

“1 Litre of Tears is a Japanese television drama for Fuji Television about a girl who was diagnosed with an incurable degenerative disease at 15, but was able to continue her life until her death at the age of 25.
The drama is an adaptation of the diary of a Japanese girl named Aya Kitō, who suffered from spinocerebellar ataxia. She began keeping a diary at the suggestion of her doctor, and continued to write until she could no longer hold a pen. The diary, titled 1 Litre no Namida, was published shortly after her death.”  (wikipedia)
It’s definitely a must see, for everyone. It’ll make you laugh, it’ll make you cry (a lot), it’ll teach you that life is the most precious gift you’ll ever receive. Heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time.

I’ve seen several movies in which the guy tells the girl (or viceversa) that he doesn’t care about her past, what she’s done, where she’s been etc… and that he only cares about the present and the future, and what their lives would be like from then on. And I guess he’s right. Nobody’s perfect, and we’ve all done things we’re not happy about and we’d like to forget, but isn’t that just running away? After all, the things we did made us who we are today, so if he doesn’t care about her past, is like saying he ignores parts of her.

Instead of ignoring one’s past, even if we believe that’s for everyone’s best, it’s best to know about it and accept it, because that’s what made us who we are today…

Anyways, I’m here now and I intend to make up for all the time lost, so I put on my glasses (yeah…need them from time to time), put the laptop on my knees and here I go!

I change my mind a lot…

It usually takes me at least 30 minutes to write an entry, no matter how short it is, cause I like to take my time and choose my words carefully, as well as the thoughts I’m about to share… don’t know if it’s actually working…

Most people say that regrets are “bad”, and “there’s no use crying over spilt milk”, and although I often agree with that saying, I also think that regrets are a sort of proof that we’re growing up… by regretting something, we admit that we made a mistake, but we move on and make sure that we don’t repeat that mistake.

I like to write about many things in the same entry that aren’t related in any way… doesn’t mean it’ll always be this way
